Language and words are important assets for anyone to succeed in life. This club at SIS is designed to give children an enjoyable hour of word games so that they not only build up their vocabulary but also sharpen their brains in spelling and math during the playing process. The ultimate goal is for children to develop a self motivated life-long learning habit constantly appreciating learning new words and new things.
The Scrammble game, invented by Dr. Chang, can play more than 30 word games some solitaire and some group games. The club will play the group games which enriches children's vocabulary, spelling and math in a little more fast pace. Children are also encouraged to play Scrammble on Dr. Chang's local Cablevision TV program on Fridays after school (4-6PM at Yorktown Cablevision Studio, Rt202 and Rt118) where everyone can win toy prizes and watch his or her own game on television on Saturdays 8PM Channel 74.
